Background
Dr. Eugenia Tsui, PT, DPT, DACM, LAc comes from a diverse and well-rounded background in the healthcare field with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. She graduated cum laude from CUNY Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science before obtaining her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons where she specialized in orthopedics and sub-specialized in integrative physical therapy. After working as a full-time physical therapist in various clinical settings in different states for several years, Eugenia decided to enroll at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine – NY and obtained her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) degree. She persisted in furthering her education and completed a second doctorate, Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM).
Eugenia is currently licensed to practice in New York as a physical therapist as well as an acupuncturist. Her professional memberships include the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA), American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA), and Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY). She is fluent in both English and Chinese and has a passing ability to communicate in Spanish. In addition, Eugenia is one of the founders and on the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors of Chinese American Community Service (CACS), a community outreach organization serving the Staten Island community since 2009.
She is a firm believer of “knowledge is power” and enjoys teaching and educating others in formal and informal settings. Eugenia has taught at her alma mater, Pacific College of Health and Science – New York for over 3 years where she also served as the Bioscience Department Chair. She has given mini-lectures at community centers such as schools and senior centers as a physical therapist regarding health and injury prevention and as an oriental medicine practitioner regarding disease prevention and nutrition. Her treatment sessions include ample time spent on patient education; she makes sure her patients understand what is going on with their bodies as well as their treatment options and expected outcomes.
When she is not busy reading and learning, Eugenia enjoys spending time baking and cooking as well as playing video games with her friends and family.
